Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 (6 oz) fresh tuna steaks
Instructions:
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels to ensure a proper crust develops during roasting.
- Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano in a small bowl.
- Brush the marinade evenly over all sides of the tuna steaks and let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Place the marinated tuna steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 5 to 7 minutes per side, using an instant-read thermometer to remove the fish when the center reaches 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
- Transfer the steaks to a warm plate and let them rest for 5 minutes to redistribute juices.
- Squeeze a fresh lemon wedge over the steaks before serving.
