Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 (6 oz) fresh tuna steaks

Instructions:

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels to ensure a proper crust develops during roasting.
  2. Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano in a small bowl.
  3. Brush the marinade evenly over all sides of the tuna steaks and let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  5. Place the marinated tuna steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes per side, using an instant-read thermometer to remove the fish when the center reaches 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
  7. Transfer the steaks to a warm plate and let them rest for 5 minutes to redistribute juices.
  8. Squeeze a fresh lemon wedge over the steaks before serving.
