Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced fine
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tilapia fillets (approx 1.25 lbs)
  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. Pat tilapia fillets completely dry using paper towels until the surface is matte and bone dry.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, lemon pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of each fillet.
  5. Place a lemon slice on top of each fillet.
  6. Bake on the center rack for 12-15 minutes until the butter is bubbling and the fish is opaque.
  7. Check for doneness by pressing the thickest part with a fork. It should flake easily.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 mins before serving.
