Ingredients:
- 4 ears fresh corn on the cob, in their husks (about 15-20cm or 6-8 inches long)
- 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter, softened (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Submerge the corn (husks and all) in a large bowl or sink filled with cold water for at least 30 minutes. This steams the corn while baking.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the soaked corn directly on the baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the husks are lightly browned and the kernels are tender.
- Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven using oven mitts. Let the corn cool slightly before handling.
- Carefully peel back the husks and remove the silk. Spread with softened butter (if using), season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
