Ingredients:

  • 4 ears fresh corn on the cob, in their husks (about 15-20cm or 6-8 inches long)
  • 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter, softened (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Submerge the corn (husks and all) in a large bowl or sink filled with cold water for at least 30 minutes. This steams the corn while baking.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Place the soaked corn directly on the baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the husks are lightly browned and the kernels are tender.
  4. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven using oven mitts. Let the corn cool slightly before handling.
  5. Carefully peel back the husks and remove the silk. Spread with softened butter (if using), season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
