Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (900 g) crab legs (king or snow crab)
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 2 teaspoons (10 g) Old Bay seasoning (or seafood seasoning of choice)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise (for optional dipping sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) lemon juice (for optional dipping sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for optional dipping sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for optional dipping sauce)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste (for optional dipping sauce)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse crab legs under cold water to remove any debris. Pat dry and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined and fragrant.
  4. Brush the garlic butter sauce generously over the crab legs, ensuring they are well-coated.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through and slightly golden.
  6. Plate the crab legs, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges. Prepare optional dipping sauce by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl.
