- 2 pounds (900 g) crab legs (king or snow crab)
- 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 2 teaspoons (10 g) Old Bay seasoning (or seafood seasoning of choice)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise (for optional dipping sauce)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) lemon juice (for optional dipping sauce)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for optional dipping sauce)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for optional dipping sauce)
- Salt and black pepper to taste (for optional dipping sauce)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse crab legs under cold water to remove any debris. Pat dry and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined and fragrant.
- Brush the garlic butter sauce generously over the crab legs, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through and slightly golden.
- Plate the crab legs, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges. Prepare optional dipping sauce by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl.
