Ingredients:

  • 2 (4-6 ounce) tilapia fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Trim green beans.
  2. Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add green beans and garlic; sauté until crisp-tender. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Pat tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add olive oil to the skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the tilapia fillets until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway. (Check for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Spoon the lemon garlic sauce over the tilapia fillets.
  7. Arrange green beans on plates. Top with the lemon garlic tilapia. Garnish with fresh parsley.
