Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 4 fresh tuna steaks (6 oz each, about 1-inch thick)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, honey, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
- Season tuna steaks lightly with salt. Place tuna in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over. Cover or seal and refrigerate for 30 minutes (maximum 1 hour).
- Heat your grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove tuna from marinade (discard marinade) and place steaks on the grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the outside is seared and the inside remains slightly pink.
- Remove tuna from grill and let rest for a minute before slicing. Serve immediately.
