Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tuna steaks, about 6 ounces each
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (e.g. cilantro or parsley)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, honey, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  2. Place tuna steaks in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over tuna and seal (or cover). Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).
  4. Remove tuna from marinade and discard the marinade. Place them on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until they reach the desired doneness.
  5. Allow tuna to rest for a couple of minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
