Ingredients:

  • Russet potatoes (baking potatoes), medium to large, even in size (Approximately 400-800g)
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil (15-30ml)
  • Kosher salt (5g)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (2.5g)
  • Optional: Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Scrub potatoes thoroughly and pat dry.
  3. Prick potatoes all over with a fork or knife.
  4. Rub potatoes with oil and season generously with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  5. Place potatoes directly on the baking sheet and bake until soft and easily pierced with a fork.
  6. For extra crispy skin, increase oven temperature to 450°F (232°C) for the last 5-10 minutes of baking.
  7. Serve immediately with desired toppings.
