Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, deveined and shell-on
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 2 cups (475ml) water
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pour water into the pot and bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir in half of the Old Bay seasoning into the water for infused flavor.
  3. Toss the shrimp with the remaining Old Bay seasoning in a bowl.
  4. Place the steamer basket or colander over the boiling water and layer the shrimp in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  5. Cover the pot with the lid and steam shrimp for 5-7 minutes. Check for doneness: shrimp should be opaque and pink.
  6. Remove shrimp with tongs or slotted spoon, serve with lemon wedges, and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
