Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) salt
  • 1 lb (450g) raw prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp (5g) cornstarch
  • 2 tsp (10ml) sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp (30g) ginger, finely minced
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • Salt and white pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add boiling water while stirring until combined.
  3. Knead until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Finely chop the prawns and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  5. Add soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, ginger, green onions, salt, and white pepper.
  6. Mix well until ingredients are combined.
  7. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a circle.
  8. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each circle.
  9. Fold the dough over and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  10. Prepare a steamer with water and bring to a gentle simmer.
  11. Place dumplings in the steamer, leaving some space between them.
  12. Steam for about 15 minutes or until the dumplings are translucent and cooked through.
  13. Arrange dumplings on a plate and serve hot.
