Ingredients:
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz smoked salmon (lox), finely diced
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp capers, drained and roughly chopped
- 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
Instructions:
- Place the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Using a rubber spatula or hand mixer, whip the cheese until it is smooth and no longer in block form. Stir in the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Gently fold in the diced smoked salmon, chopped dill, green onions, and capers. Use a folding motion (scraping the bottom and lifting over) rather than stirring vigorously to ensure the salmon remains in distinct, tender pieces.
- Add the hot pepper sauce for a subtle kick. Taste the spread; if it feels too heavy, add an extra squeeze of lemon. Stir one final time until the colors are evenly distributed.
