- 4 ounces (115g) smoked salmon, thinly sliced or pre-shredded
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) capers, drained and roughly chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) black pepper, freshly ground
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) garlic powder (optional)
- Crackers (water crackers, Ritz crackers, or whole wheat crackers)
- Vegetables (cucumber slices, carrot sticks, celery sticks)
- Toasted baguette slices
- Lemon wedges for garnish
Instructions:
- Chop the smoked salmon into small pieces if it's not pre-shredded.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, dill, capers, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
- Gently fold in the chopped smoked salmon until evenly distributed. Avoid overmixing.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This step enhances the overall taste.(Optional)
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with a sprig of dill or a lemon wedge. Serve immediately with your choice of crackers, vegetables, or toasted baguette.
