Ingredients:

  • 225g full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 60g sour cream
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 115g cold-smoked salmon, finely chopped into ribbons
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp capers, drained and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and sour cream in a large glass mixing bowl. Using a silicone spatula or hand mixer, whip the mixture until it is light, airy, and free of any lumps.
  2. Fold in the lemon juice, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh dill. Stirring the herbs into the fat of the cream cheese at this stage helps bloom the flavors throughout the spread.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped smoked salmon ribbons and chopped capers. Use a folding motion rather than vigorous stirring to maintain the structural integrity of the fish pieces and create a marbled appearance.
