Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup (packed) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
  4. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Let it simmer for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Stir in the chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Serve immediately with plenty of crusty bread for dipping. Enjoy your Portuguese Garlic Shrimp!
