Ingredients:
- 2 pounds snow crab legs (900g)
- 4 cups water (950ml)
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (115g), melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Add water to a large pot, place the steamer basket inside, and bring to a boil over high heat. Add lemon quarters and Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.
- Carefully place the snow crab legs in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Cover the pot tightly and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until the crab legs are heated through. The shells should be bright red.
- While the crab legs are steaming, melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir in the minced garlic, parsley (if using), red pepper flakes (if using), and lemon juice into the melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the steamed crab legs from the pot with tongs and serve immediately with the garlic butter dipping sauce.
