Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds snow crab legs (900g)
  • 4 cups water (950ml)
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (115g), melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Add water to a large pot, place the steamer basket inside, and bring to a boil over high heat. Add lemon quarters and Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.
  2. Carefully place the snow crab legs in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  3. Cover the pot tightly and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until the crab legs are heated through. The shells should be bright red.
  4. While the crab legs are steaming, melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic, parsley (if using), red pepper flakes (if using), and lemon juice into the melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove the steamed crab legs from the pot with tongs and serve immediately with the garlic butter dipping sauce.
