Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5g) freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and trim the woody ends of the asparagus.
  3. In a bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, pepper, and minced garlic (if using). Ensure asparagus is evenly coated.
  4. Spread asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until tender-crisp and lightly browned.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice before serving (optional).
