Ingredients:
- 8 ounces (225g) cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
- 8 ounces (225g) lump crab meat, picked over for shells
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (120ml) mayonnaise
- ¼ cup (60ml) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons minced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- If using raw shrimp, boil or sauté until pink and cooked through. Cool completely and chop.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
- Add minced red onion, dill, chives, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.
- Gently fold in the chopped shrimp and crab meat, being careful not to break up the crab too much.
- Taste the dip and adjust seasonings as needed. Add salt to taste, and a touch more lemon juice for extra brightness.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh dill sprigs and lemon wedges, if desired.
