Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces (225g) cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
  • 8 ounces (225g) lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120ml) mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup (60ml) sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. If using raw shrimp, boil or sauté until pink and cooked through. Cool completely and chop.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
  3. Add minced red onion, dill, chives, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped shrimp and crab meat, being careful not to break up the crab too much.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust seasonings as needed. Add salt to taste, and a touch more lemon juice for extra brightness.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh dill sprigs and lemon wedges, if desired.
