Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (900g) Dungeness crab legs, thawed if frozen
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 2-3 cups (480-720ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Fill the steamer pot with water
  2. Place the crab legs in the steamer basket, layering if necessary.
  3. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes, or until shells turn bright orange and meat is heated through.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in parsley, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper; mix well.
  5. Remove crab legs from steamer and transfer to a serving dish. Serve with garlic butter sauce on the side for dipping.
