Ingredients:
- 4 large tilapia fillets (approx. 6 oz / 170g each)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Use paper towels to pat each tilapia fillet thoroughly dry on both sides to ensure proper searing and prevent steaming.
- Combine the 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp sea salt, and 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper in a small bowl.
- Coat both sides of the fish with the spice mix, pressing it into the flesh with your fingers.
- Stir the 2 cloves minced garlic and 1 tbsp lemon juice into the 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter.
- Place fillets on a parchment lined tray until they are spaced 2 inches apart.
- Brush half of the lemon butter mixture over the tops of the fillets.
- Bake for 10 minutes until the edges look opaque and firm.
- Remove from oven, drizzle with remaining butter, and bake 2 more minutes until the center flakes easily with a fork.
- Sprinkle with 1 tbsp fresh parsley and let sit for 3 minutes.
