Ingredients:

  • 2 (6-ounce/170g each) salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon/15ml olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup/60ml ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons/30ml honey
  • 1 tablespoon/15ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon/15ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon/5ml smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5ml garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon/1.25ml onion powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined.
  3. Arrange salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each fillet liberally with the smoky-sweet glaze.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  5. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or a sprinkle of smoked paprika, if desired.
