Ingredients:
- 1 large russet potato (about 300g / 10.5 oz)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
- ½ teaspoon salt (to taste)
- Butter (2 tablespoons / 30g, optional)
- Shredded cheese (¼ cup / 30g, optional)
- Sour cream (2 tablespoons / 30g, optional)
- 1 tablespoon chives (5g, chopped, optional)
Instructions:
- Wash the potato thoroughly under running water.
- Use a fork or knife to poke several holes in the potato (4-6 times).
- If desired, rub the potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Place the potato on a microwave-safe plate and cook on high for 5 minutes.
- Flip the potato and continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes until tender.
- Allow the potato to rest for 2 minutes before handling.
- Slice open the top and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Add desired toppings and serve warm.
