Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900g) Snow Crab Clusters, frozen or thawed
- 4 cups (950 ml) Water
- 1 Lemon, cut into wedges (optional, for aroma)
- 1 Bay Leaf (optional, for aroma)
- ½ cup (115g) Unsalted Butter, melted
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Chives, chopped
- ½ teaspoon Lemon Juice
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ⅛ teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions:
- Pour water into the large pot. Add lemon wedges and bay leaf (if using). Bring to a boil over high heat.
- If using frozen snow crab clusters, ensure it is thawed.
- Place the steamer basket inside the pot, ensuring the water doesn't touch the bottom of the basket. Arrange the snow crab clusters in a single layer in the basket.
- Cover the pot tightly with a lid. Reduce heat to medium-high and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until the crab is heated through and fragrant. The shells should be bright red.
- While the snow crab clusters are steaming, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan. Add minced garlic, parsley, chives, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the melted butter. Stir to combine.
- Remove the snow crab clusters from the pot using tongs. Serve immediately with the garlic-herb butter on the side and nutcrackers or kitchen shears for cracking the shells.
