Ingredients:

  • 1-1.5 lbs snow crab legs, frozen or thawed
  • 4 cups water (950ml) or 4 cups seafood broth (950ml)
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons butter (30g), melted, for serving
  • Optional: Old Bay seasoning, to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. If frozen, thaw crab legs in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water. Briefly rinse under cold water before cooking.
  2. Decide whether to steam or boil the crab legs.
  3. For steaming: Add water (or broth) to a large pot, filling it just below the steamer basket. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Place the crab legs in the steamer basket. Cover the pot and steam for 5-8 minutes, or until heated through.
  4. For boiling: Bring water (or broth) to a rolling boil in a large pot. Gently add the crab legs to the boiling water. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through.
  5. Remove the crab legs with tongs. Serve immediately with melted butter, lemon wedges, and optional Old Bay seasoning and parsley.
  6. Use crab crackers or kitchen shears to crack the shells and extract the delicious meat. Enjoy!
