Ingredients:
- 2 pounds (900g) frozen or thawed crab legs (Snow, King, or Dungeness)
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1/2 cup (120ml) dry white wine (optional)
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 cup (115g/1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine water, white wine (if using), lemon quarters, and bay leaves.
- Place the crab legs in the steamer basket. Ensure the water level is below the basket.
- Cover the pot tightly and steam for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through.
- Melt the butter. Stir in the minced garlic, parsley, chives, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the crab legs from the steamer and serve immediately with the garlic-herb butter for dipping.
