  2. Wash and thoroughly pat the asparagus spears dry. Snap off the tough, woody ends.
  3. Place the spears in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well until every spear is lightly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned asparagus in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not overlap significantly.
  5. Roast for 8–10 minutes to slightly soften the spears.
  6. Remove the sheet from the oven and evenly sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the spears.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 3–5 minutes, or until the Parmesan is melted, bubbly, and golden brown around the edges. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Transfer immediately to a platter and serve warm.
