Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb Frozen King Crab Legs (approx. 3-4 clusters)
  • 2 cups Water or Wine (Steaming Liquid)
  • 1 medium Lemon Slices
  • 1 stick (8 Tbsp) Unsalted Butter, for dipping sauce
  • 2 cloves Fresh Garlic, finely minced

Instructions:

  1. Pour 2 cups of water (or optional wine/lager) into a large pot or Dutch oven. Add the lemon slices for aroma. Place a steamer basket above the liquid, ensuring the water does not touch the basket.
  2. Bring the liquid to a rolling boil to create vigorous steam. Arrange the frozen King Crab legs in a single layer in the steamer basket. If necessary, bend the clusters to fit, taking care not to puncture the shells.
  3. Cover the pot tightly. Reduce the heat slightly to maintain a strong, steady stream of steam. Steam for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the meat reaches 145°F (63°C).
  4. While the crab is steaming, melt 1 stick of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the minced garlic. Keep the garlic butter dipping sauce warm.
  5. Carefully remove the crab from the pot using tongs. Serve immediately with the warm garlic butter dipping sauce.
