Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 4 (6 oz) Ahi or Yellowfin tuna steaks
- 1 tbsp high-smoke point oil
Instructions:
- Whisk the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until emulsified. Pat the tuna steaks completely dry with paper towels. Coat the steaks generously in the marinade and let them sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to high heat until a drop of water evaporates instantly. Lightly brush the grill grates with high-smoke point oil. Place the tuna steaks on the grill and sear for 2–3 minutes per side for a medium-rare center.
- Remove the steaks from the heat immediately. Transfer them to a warm plate and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
