Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb sirloin steak, about 1-inch thick
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Add sirloin steak, ensuring it is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
- Remove steak from marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (internal temperature of 135°F/57°C). Let the steak rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Stir in chicken or vegetable broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce heat and whisk in heavy cream and Dijon mustard; cook until thickened (about 3-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
- Slice steak against the grain and spoon creamy sauce over it. Garnish with chopped parsley.
