Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb sirloin steak, about 1-inch thick
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Add sirloin steak, ensuring it is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
  3. Remove steak from marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (internal temperature of 135°F/57°C). Let the steak rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes.
  4. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Stir in chicken or vegetable broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat and whisk in heavy cream and Dijon mustard; cook until thickened (about 3-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Slice steak against the grain and spoon creamy sauce over it. Garnish with chopped parsley.
