Ingredients:

  • 4 whole crabs (about 1.5 lbs each or 680 g)
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt (for boiling)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Clean the crabs under cold running water to remove any sand. Carefully drop crabs into boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes until bright orange.
  2. While crabs are cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Stir in lemon juice, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  3. Drain the crabs and let cool slightly. Crack the crab shells and remove meat if desired (optional). Add the crabs to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce.
  4. Toss crabs gently in the sauce, allowing them to soak up the flavors for about 2-3 minutes over low heat. Serve immediately on a platter.
