Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) black shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Rinse and pat the black shrimp dry. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Melt the butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until foamy.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  4. Cook the shrimp: Add the seasoned black shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, undisturbed, until they start turning pink.
  5. Flip and finish: Flip the shrimp, add the lemon juice and zest, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked (opaque and firm).
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
