Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp or prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup (150 g) finely chopped mixed bell peppers (red, green, yellow)
- 1/2 cup (75 g) finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup (60 g) finely chopped cilantro or parsley
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240 ml) water (adjust as needed)
- 1.5 cups (150 g) breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix prawns with cumin powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and lemon juice. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine bell peppers, onions, and cilantro. Mix well.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water until a thick batter forms.
- Dip marinated prawns into the batter then into breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the prawns in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
