Ingredients:

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken drumsticks

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper, and stir well.
  2. Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place chicken in a large resealable bag or a bowl and pour marinade over. Coat chicken evenly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Place marinated chicken pieces in a baking dish, skin side up, and reserve excess marinade.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, then baste with reserved marinade. Continue to bake for another 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Optional: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a crispier skin. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
