Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (Full-Fat)
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise (Real, Full-Fat)
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Lime Zest
- 1 teaspoon Chipotle Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Mexican Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Hot Sauce (e.g., Cholula or Tabasco)
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt, or to taste
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Coriander (Cilantro), finely chopped (Optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and the mayonnaise. Use a whisk to blend them until completely smooth and homogeneous.
- Add the fresh lime juice, lime zest, and measured hot sauce to the yogurt base. Whisk well to incorporate.
- Add the chipotle powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, dried oregano, kosher salt, and chopped fresh coriander (if using) directly into the mixture. Whisk vigorously for 30–60 seconds until all the spices are fully dissolved and the sauce takes on a uniform color. Avoid lumps of spice.
- Taste the sauce. If it needs more tang, add a small squeeze of extra lime juice. If it needs a richer flavor, add a pinch more salt or chipotle powder.
- Transfer the sauce to an airtight container. Refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes. This crucial chilling time allows the dried spices to hydrate and bloom, vastly improving the overall flavor depth. Give the sauce a final stir just before serving.
