  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets very dry using paper towels. Arrange them in a single layer in the prepared dish. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season evenly with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped parsley, Italian herbs, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly incorporated into a fragrant paste.
  4. Spoon the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each tilapia fillet, gently spreading it to cover the surface.
  5. Place the dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from the oven, let rest for 2 minutes, and garnish generously with fresh parsley before serving immediately.
