Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast (450g)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (60ml)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, for balance)

Instructions:

  1. Cut chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  3. Add chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap or seal in a zip-top bag. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  4. Heat the grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F or 200°C).
  5. Remove chicken from marinade and grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove from the grill, allow resting for a few minutes, then serve warm.
