Ingredients:
- 2 Tilapia fillets (approx. 6 oz / 170g each)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (30ml)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each tilapia fillet in the flour mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully place the coated tilapia fillets in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork, and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the tilapia fillets from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favourite sides.
