Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes (approximately 2 lbs or 900g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5g)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (5g)
- ½ teaspoon paprika (2g)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (30g) - optional
- Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or chives) - optional
Instructions:
- Wash and peel (if desired) the russet potatoes. Cut potatoes into evenly sized strips (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide).
- Submerge the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and rinse the fries under cold water.
- Spread the fries on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and pat dry thoroughly.
- Transfer the dried fries to a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet for even cooking.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and optionally sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
