Ingredients:
- 1 small head of green cabbage (approx. 1.5 lbs or 680 g), core removed and sliced into ribbons
- 4 strips of bacon, chopped (about 140 g)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30 g)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g), or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (2 g), or to taste
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat the pan over medium heat. Add chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside.
- Drain excess bacon fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet. Add butter and sliced cabbage to the skillet. Stir to coat.
- Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until cabbage starts to soften.
- Stir in minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until cabbage is tender and slightly browned.
- Return the crispy bacon to the skillet and drizzle with apple cider vinegar. Toss to combine. Cook for a further minute, then serve hot.
