Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and trim the green beans.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Add the green beans to the bowl and toss well until they are evenly coated.
- Transfer the green beans to a baking sheet, spreading them in a single layer.
- Evenly distribute the grated Parmesan over the green beans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the beans are tender and the cheese is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, zest with lemon if desired, and serve hot.
