Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and trim the green beans.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Add the green beans to the bowl and toss well until they are evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the green beans to a baking sheet, spreading them in a single layer.
  6. Evenly distribute the grated Parmesan over the green beans.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the beans are tender and the cheese is golden and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven, zest with lemon if desired, and serve hot.
