Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) black pepper
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) dry white wine
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Melt butter in the skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Stir in both paprikas and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 30 seconds to release their flavor.
- Pour in the white wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Simmer until the wine is reduced by half (about 2-3 minutes).
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook until the sauce slightly thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
- Stir in the fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges (if desired). This Creamy Garlic-paprika Shrimp Skillet Recipe is best served hot!
