Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) dry white wine
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Melt butter in the skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  3. Stir in both paprikas and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 30 seconds to release their flavor.
  4. Pour in the white wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Simmer until the wine is reduced by half (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook until the sauce slightly thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
  7. Stir in the fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges (if desired). This Creamy Garlic-paprika Shrimp Skillet Recipe is best served hot!
