Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz imitation crab, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 3 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 20-24 sheets wonton wrappers
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Fold in the mayonnaise, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and sugar until the mixture is a uniform, pale cream color.
  3. Fold in the finely chopped imitation crab and most of the sliced green onions.
  4. Transfer the mixture into an 8x8 inch baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes to allow the fats to stabilize.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan to 350°F (175°C). Cut wonton wrappers into triangles.
  8. Fry wonton triangles in small batches for 30-60 seconds until light golden brown.
  9. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels, and immediately sprinkle with salt.
  10. Garnish the dip with toasted sesame seeds, a drizzle of sweet chili sauce, and the reserved green onions.
