Ingredients:
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 (6 oz) tilapia fillets
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, and chopped cilantro until it forms a thick, aromatic paste.
- Pat the tilapia fillets thoroughly with a paper towel to remove surface moisture.
- Line a baking sheet with foil and place the fillets in the center.
- Slather the chili-lime paste evenly over the top and sides of each fillet, pressing it in slightly so it adheres.
- Top each fillet with a thin slice of fresh lime.
- Set oven to high broil and place the pan on the top rack, approximately 6 inches from the heat source.
- Broil for 7–10 minutes until the edges are charred and the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
