Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillet, skin on
  • 1 cedar plank, soaked in water for at least 1 hour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. Soak cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, lemon zest, dill, lemon juice, and garlic. Mix until well blended.
  3. Prepare grill for medium heat (350°F/175°C), ensuring both sides are ready.
  4. Pat salmon dry with paper towels. Rub with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Place soaked cedar plank on the grill and close the lid for about 3-5 minutes until it begins to smoke.
  6. Place salmon skin-side down on the cedar plank. Brush generously with lemon-dill butter.
  7. Close the lid and grill for 15-20 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  8. Carefully remove the plank from the grill. Serve the salmon directly on the plank or transfer to a platter. Drizzle with extra lemon-dill butter if desired.
