Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
  • 1/4 cup sea moss gel (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)
  • Optional: A pinch of cinnamon for flavor

Instructions:

  1. (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Soak the Sea Moss: Rinse about a half-cup of raw dried sea moss under cold water to remove any debris. Soak it in a bowl of water for at least 12 hours until it expands and becomes soft.
  2. (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Blend: Drain and rinse again. Place the soaked sea moss in a blender with approximately one cup of fresh water. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Store: Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three weeks.
  4. In a blender, combine the hulled strawberries, sea moss gel, and honey or maple syrup.
  5. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  6. Add the banana slices and almond milk to the strawberry mixture in the blender.
  7. Optionally add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  8. Blend on high speed until everything is fully incorporated and has reached your desired consistency—around one minute should suffice.
  9. Taste your smoothie; adjust sweetness by adding more honey/maple syrup if needed.
