Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
- 1/4 cup sea moss gel (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)
- Optional: A pinch of cinnamon for flavor
Instructions:
- (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Soak the Sea Moss: Rinse about a half-cup of raw dried sea moss under cold water to remove any debris. Soak it in a bowl of water for at least 12 hours until it expands and becomes soft.
- (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Blend: Drain and rinse again. Place the soaked sea moss in a blender with approximately one cup of fresh water. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- (Skip this step if using store-bought gel) Store: Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three weeks.
- In a blender, combine the hulled strawberries, sea moss gel, and honey or maple syrup.
- Blend until smooth and well combined.
- Add the banana slices and almond milk to the strawberry mixture in the blender.
- Optionally add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
- Blend on high speed until everything is fully incorporated and has reached your desired consistency—around one minute should suffice.
- Taste your smoothie; adjust sweetness by adding more honey/maple syrup if needed.
