Ingredients:
- 3 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups boiling water
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 medium onions
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1/2 cup fresh chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup fresh dill
- 4 cans tuna in water
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- Fish masala spices
- Black pepper
- Salt
Instructions:
- Add a little bit of oil into a cooking pan and add the chopped onion, salt, pepper, and turmeric. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the rice to boiling water and cook until half done, about 5-6 minutes. Drain the rice and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add chopped garlic and fish spices. Stir for 1 minute.
- Add drained tuna (without water or oil), chopped cilantro, dill, and chopped tomatoes. Mix well.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cover. Let it cook for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
- In a separate pan, add some oil and layer half of the cooked rice, then add half of the tuna mixture. Repeat with remaining rice and tuna mixture. Finish with a layer of rice.
- Add 1/2 cup of water, cover the pan, and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes. Reduce to low heat and continue to cook until rice is fully done.
