- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (1.5 pounds/680 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) barbecue sauce (your choice of flavor)
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
- ½ teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
Instructions:
- Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mix all over the chicken thighs, ensuring to get under the skin for maximum flavor.
- Cover the chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place chicken thighs in a baking dish, skin side up.
- Bake for 30 minutes uncovered, then baste with barbecue sauce.
- Continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken skin is golden brown.
- Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
