Ingredients:
- 4 (6 oz / 170g) tilapia fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions:
- Pat the tilapia fillets extremely dry using paper towels to ensure a proper sear.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a thick paste.
- Brush the spice paste evenly over the top and sides of each fillet.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the fillets in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes. If edges become mahogany-colored at the 6-minute mark, reduce heat to 375°F (190°C) for the remaining time.
- Remove the fillets using silicone tongs and let the fish rest on a warm plate for 2 minutes.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top immediately before serving.
