Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (approx. 6 oz / 170g each), skin-on
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
- 0.25 tsp cracked black pepper
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
Instructions:
- Remove the salmon fillets from the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking. Use paper towels to pat the salmon bone-dry on all sides to ensure a crisp sear.
- Brush each fillet lightly with olive oil. In a small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, black pepper, and dried oregano.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon, pressing gently into the flesh to ensure adhesion.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place the fillets in the basket skin-side down, ensuring no overlap.
- Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature at the 8-minute mark.
- Remove the salmon once the internal temperature reaches 130°F (55°C) for medium-rare or 135°F (57°C) for medium. Let the fish rest for 2 minutes before serving.
