Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (approx. 6 oz / 170g each), skin-on
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.25 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. Remove the salmon fillets from the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking. Use paper towels to pat the salmon bone-dry on all sides to ensure a crisp sear.
  2. Brush each fillet lightly with olive oil. In a small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, black pepper, and dried oregano.
  3. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon, pressing gently into the flesh to ensure adhesion.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place the fillets in the basket skin-side down, ensuring no overlap.
  5. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature at the 8-minute mark.
  6. Remove the salmon once the internal temperature reaches 130°F (55°C) for medium-rare or 135°F (57°C) for medium. Let the fish rest for 2 minutes before serving.
