Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (7g) cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  4. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the shrimp and toss again until well coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) if required. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and slightly crispy. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove the air fryer shrimp from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
