Ingredients:

  • 4 (6 oz / 170g) Cod fillets
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Olive oil
  • 1 tsp (5g) Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (6g) Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) Black pepper
  • 2 medium (1 lb / 450g) Sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) Sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Slice sweet potatoes into uniform 1/4-inch strips and submerge them in a bowl of cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. Pat the cod fillets completely dry using paper towels to prevent steaming.
  3. Rub olive oil into the cod fillets, then evenly coat with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Drain the sweet potatoes and pat them bone-dry with paper towels.
  5. Toss the dried sweet potatoes in a bowl with avocado oil and salt.
  6. Place sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket and air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.
  7. When the chips have 8–10 minutes remaining, push them to the sides of the basket and place the seasoned cod fillets in the center.
  8. Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (204°C) and cook until the fish is flaky and the chips are mahogany-colored and rigid.
